Worship

God’s purpose in creation was to create a people in His image who are in communion and community with Himself, with one another, and with all of creation.  Part of being made "in his image" means we too have the ability to create.  In response to God's greatness demonstrated in creation, as well as in redemption, we create an honest expression of worship back to God to thank him, tell him we love him, and lay the most intimate parts of our hearts before him.

Weekend Worship Gatherings 

Jenks Church believes worshiping God is foundational to the Jesus inspired Three-fold Path we walk in life. We celebrate different worship styles encouraging each person to fully engage in a heartfelt expression thus experiencing communion with a loving God. Though each gathering is different all seek to glorify and honor the one true God.

 

 

If you choose to follow in the footsteps of Jesus you must also be willing to live under the sobering influence of the Spirit.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit." Words of saint Paul to the Christians in Galatia.

The first followers of Jesus were so influenced by the Spirit it was said of them... "they have had too much wine"! Wow. What an accusation! So how do I live by the spirit? How do I keep in step with the Spirit? Imagine living in such a manner you are accused of loving too intensely, being unrealistically happy and even superficially serene. And what if it were true. What if it could be true?

Saturday Evening

Do you work on Sundays? Do you prefer evening worship? Does something refreshingly different appeal to you? The Mosaic Worship Gathering is rooted in both ancient and modern worship practices and creates space for worshipers to contemplate a Holy God and His movement in creation. Acoustical music set in a coffee shop environment creates an open atmosphere that values belonging and community. Weekly Communion is offered in an experiential, reflective and personal environment. Children are welcome and included at Mosaic!

Sunday Mornings

Let the early worshipers arise! This worship celebration is a beautiful burst of energy, fellowship and praise to God. Chapel Worship includes communion, sacred hymns, the use of hymnals, and a message from the Bible. Rich memories from the past flood heart and soul and remind us of our true  foundation as well as our exciting future. Children's programming is not offered during this service.

Worshipers who love to sing enjoy the Acappella music tradition featuring vocal harmony of both contemporary and traditional songs. Communion and Family Praise (an open time to share in praise, prayer and thanksgiving) are valued traditions in this gathering. A practical life application message takes worshipers into God’s word and encourages personal spiritual growth. Children's Ministry offers programming for children birth - 2nd grade including Nursery and Kid’s Praise.

This contemporary worship celebration is inviting and capitalizes on a warm, welcoming and relaxed environment. The music is current and familiar, and features various artists and musicians from the Encounter community. Communion and Community Sharing are highly valued and contribute greatly to a sense of belonging. The teaching style is relaxed and engaging and designed to allow for personal application as well as input during many messages. No one is ever a guest at the Encounter worship gathering! Children may be checked into Kid’s Praise prior to the start of Encounter.
